Institution of Engineering and Technology Award - The Seawater Greenhouse wins the global annual Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) award for Sustainability. The judges for the award recognised that the Seawater Greenhouse project embodies sustainability on many levels, combining several simple concepts to create a design with global application.

Tech Museum Laureate – The Seawater Greenhouse has been announced as one of the five environmental award laureates for the annual Tech Museum Awards for 2006. The awards, organised by the Tech Museum of Innovation, San Jose, CA, picks five nominees in five categories for applying technology to benefit humanity.

The ‘Guardian’ on the Seawater Greenhouse - The UK newspaper The Guardian has an article about "Giant wind turbines based on a seed, and a desalination plant that mimics a beetle", which mentions both the Seawater Greenhouse and the Grimshaw/ Paton theatre desalination plant.
